Jewelers and wedding planners are constantly asked, “What is the best way to pop the question during the holiday season?”  Well, as you might have guessed, there is no right or wrong answer to this.  In fact, there are just as many different ways to propose as there are types of engagement rings and men’s wedding bands.  If you can dream it, you can make it your proposal – the more personalized the better.   But if all else fails, ask for some help from your favorite hopeless romantic.

Now that Black Friday is behind us and the holiday season has officially kicked off, expect to find long lines at local jewelry stores. And these are not just your casual browsers or last-minute gift shoppers; the lines have already started. As more men work up the nerve to pop the question, the lines will get even longer.  It is this annual phenomenon that has prompted so many shoppers to go online.

Whether shopping for men’s wedding bands in alternative metals, precious metal engagement rings or fashionable unisex rings, the selection and savings to be found on the Internet is always much better than a jewelry store. Instead of spending time waiting in line this year, why not shop online and use the extra time fine tuning your “big idea?”

  • This may sound a bit cliché, but guys still love to hide an engagement ring in a fancy Christmas ornament and hang it on the tree.
  • Another idea is to wrap it in a small ring box, which is hidden within a medium sized box, which is hidden within a larger box; each with colorful tissues and bows.
  • If you live in an area where there’s a lot of snow on the ground, go outside and build a snowman together, complete with a carrot nose.  Then, when she’s not looking, fit the ring onto the carrot and write “Will you marry me?” in the snow.  This one only works if you don’t mind getting down on one knee in the snow.
  • Dress up as Santa yourself, or hire a singing telegram service to deliver a special gift to her on Christmas Eve. Include strict instructions that she is not to open it until midnight. Then, when the clock strikes 12, let her open it in front of you as you pop the question.

Of course, not every couple will get engaged this holiday season, and not everyone will come up with a creative way to pop the question.  Some will simply decide to elope.  If this sounds like the most romantic option for you, then you may need to find some wedding bands in a hurry. For the best selection of men’s wedding bands in an endless selection of styles, search the Internet and look for a store that carries a wide variety of men’s wedding bands in traditional and alternative metals.

As we head into the most romantic season of the year to get engaged, it helps to plan ahead.  Before you can “pop the question,” you will spend a lot of time shopping for rings.  And if you’re planning a Christmas wedding, now is the time to buy women’s and men’s wedding bands.  As a wedding consultant with years of experience in ring selection, my advice to you is this: avoid the holiday rush at the jeweler and find the ring you want online!
